Every chapter of Big Five Group begins with the same question: how do we help a community grow stronger, one meal, one lesson and one opportunity at a time? Our next chapter is East Africa. Building on our work with partners in Somalia on school feeding and food security, we are looking to expand into Kenya first, and from there into the wider region.

The first step is a simple one. More Big Five Foods samples are on their way to our team in the region, so that partners can see, cook and taste what we make. That is how every good partnership starts: with a conversation and a shared meal.

Feed

Feed comes first, because children who eat well can learn. Big Five Foods makes shelf-stable nutrition for school feeding and food security programmes: our Fortified Porridge, our OnePot meals and our NSNP Soya Mince. Our products are Halaal certified by SANHA, and they are manufactured and packed in an FSSC 22000 Version 6 certified facility in South Africa (which includes ISO 22000:2018). They are made to store well and travel well, which matters wherever supply lines are long and the need is urgent.

Educate

A good meal opens the door to learning, and learning opens the door to leadership. Big Five Learn, our leadership development division, uses the Super-Cube® model to develop ethical, whole-person leaders in business and the public sector. As we grow in East Africa, we want to work alongside local leaders and institutions, sharing what we have learned and learning from the region in return.

Empower

We do not simply want to send food into a region; we want to build with it. That means local partnerships, local distribution and local jobs, and building capacity so that programmes are run by the people who know their communities best. Kenya, where we have set up our company, will be our hub for East Africa, and we are looking for distributors, institutions and partners who share that long-term view.

Meet us in Nairobi

We will be in Kenya from 20 to 26 October 2026, at our Kenyan offices in Nairobi, working with our stakeholders. If you are a partner, distributor or stakeholder in Kenya or the wider region, we would love to meet you that week. Get in touch and we will arrange a time.
