Big Five Foods, with SANTACO and Vodacom, is launching containers at taxi ranks: food and water, work, Vodacom Wi-Fi and Super-Cube® learning where people already gather. The plan is a phased rollout toward 15,000 containers.

South Africa's taxi ranks are where the country gathers every day. People wait, greet one another, buy what they need and move on. That is why Big Five Foods is putting food, work and a way to get online where the taxis already stop.
We are doing it in partnership with the South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) and Vodacom. Big Five Foods containers at taxi ranks: small hubs, placed where people already move.
Where the taxis stop, nutrition and connection arrive.
Inside the container
Inside each container: Big Five Foods and waters to help feed communities, employment for the people who work in the hub, and Vodacom Wi-Fi so neighbours can get online. The same place carries Super-Cube® and Big Five Learn education touchpoints into the rank, so learning sits where people are already standing.
The plan with SANTACO
With SANTACO, the programme plan is a phased rollout toward 15,000 containers across major taxi ranks and rural communities. That 15,000 is the partnership plan, built step by step. Live sites grow in phases. The photographs with this story show a container in the field as the launch begins.
